VEGAN AND DELICIOUS
Did you know that our teriyaki sauce and soy sauce has been VEGAN since the start of April? We were very excited to come up with a vegan recipe for two of our most popular sauces!
Like all our sauces, we make it fresh in house. It is never frozen and has no preservatives. It's always fresh because we go through it so fast!
It's a lot of work to make these sauces every week, but we know it's working because we hear from our customers all the time how much they love it.
Part of the process includes simmering all the ingredients in a massive pot for hours. The kitchen smells fantastic when this is happening! This simmering process thickens the sauce and draws all the flavour out of the ingredients
So how has the recipe changed? Previously our teriyaki sauce included a homemade boiled chicken broth, and our soy sauce had katsuobushi (fish flakes) and stock made from animal. We've scrapped the animal products from both of the sauces and instead replaced it with a traditional Korean herbal root.
So what is this Korean wonder root? Well, that's a closely guarded secret in our kitchen!
